Is one expected to avert the eyes? The story implies that it is not so. Would it break the rule if one filmed from the train? And what if one wandered the railway embankment and made a series of photographs? Is there a point at which bad manners becomes intrusion; intrusion, aggression and does recording the scene change something?

 

In other words, what is the difference between using the eye and using the camera, reality and its photographic representation?
